Thank you Aggieland Safari for having us over this week! Dr. Brady gave our students an amazing educational tour through out the park. The students were able to ask in depth questions about the animals and the day to day operations of the safari. They were also challenged with critical thinking throughout the day!

🐱FELINE NEUTER FRENZY🐱

Today our Program was able to neuter, vaccinate, and FIV/FeLV test 18 cats!

This was a group collaboration between first and second year students, instructors, and local veterinarians (Dr. Hendrix and Dr. Glade).

This event not only gives back to our community, but gives the students a real life experience where they can perfect their skills. 👏🏼

Our seconds years were able to help with feeding, cage cleanup, wound repair, and medication administration! Thanks to Paws and Claws for giving them this great opportunity.

🐎🐎Our students check to ensure all equine contestants have their up to date Coggins paperwork! This is an important test to ensure equines are safe from Equine Infectious Anemia, a potentially fatal disease which is spread by biting insects such as horseflies.🐎🐎

Our students handled some avian patients today-chickens! They got practice on physical exams, nail trims, injection, blood draws, and wing clipping.

🐾HAPPY VET TECH WEEK🐾

Though our students aren't credentialed, yet. We like to take one day of the week to celebrate the journey they are on..... becoming LVTs.

Today they enjoyed some games, gift bags, and ice cream bar! We hope all the vet techs enjoy their week, and understand how incredibly vital they are to the profession.

The students enjoyed learning about reptiles and what makes them such unique pets! They were able to handle them as well, which always makes for a good photo shoot.

We highly encourage you to visit these places if you have an interest in learning more about exotic pets. They know their stuff!!
