A new class was born today out of what writer Alice Walker called "furious dancing".

More precisely she said, “Hard times require furious dancing. Each of us is proof. The world has changed: it did not change without your prayers, without your faith, without your determination to believe in liberation and kindness; without your dancing through the years that had no beat”.

With these powerful words as guiding light, I invite you to invoke your own soul beat through expressive dancing and intuitive painting - a powerful pairing, and two of my biggest loves.

You may wonder: what is a soul beat? It is the frequency at which your spirit speaks, creates, and thrives. The frequency at which it feels most alive.

To be aware of and in tune with our soul beat is to open the door to a more authentic relationship with who we are and to honor the life force within us that seeks to guide us if we make room for her.

❤️‍🔥Embrace community: Take your place within a group of peers who lift each other up and champion each other’s colorful brilliance.

You don’t need to know how to dance or how to paint to join us. All you have to do is let yourself BE. Together we will paint from intuitive fluid movement, guided by songs we love and community we trust. The result will be a deeply personal and meaningful piece of art, documenting your own soul beat, born out of the coherence of your body, heart, mind, and soul.

You are welcome to join us even with limited physical movement. If you feel the call to be there, trust it.

Inspiration, dreams, soul connection, creation.
A year ago at this time a powerful experience with this incredible person took place and I cherish her and our connection to this day. What I wrote then still resonates at the beginning of this new year of 2025 and I hope it does for you too. She shared her story here: https://vimeo.com/901989080/4fe890ca1e?share=copy
May you keep dreaming strong and creating what matters to you most this 2025.

Have you ever had a dream that will not let you rest until you act on it? Until you make it happen? And what were you willing to challenge, accept, invest in, or change in your life to make serious room for it?

This person came to the studio with this type of dream and asked me to guide her through bringing it to life on canvas. Some 12 weeks later she finally took it home.

It is the biggest project I’ve held space for since I’ve started teaching independently. The fact that the collaboration ended today is a bittersweet moment.

While I had the tools and the processes to lead the journey through the layers of her incredible story and vision, she showed me what true commitment looks like when a big dream “has you”. She came back week after week with a passion, resilience, and willingness to dig in deep the likes of which I rarely see. Not just about painting. About what the dream means to her and what she’s willing to do to bring more of it alive in her own life.

Her bravery on canvas mirrors who she is in life. She is someone who chooses to live the dream for real, to say a big bold huge YES to it through it all, and boy do we know it’s not easy. I can honestly say that I am deeply changed by this experience.

While this picture is used with permission, I am not sharing any more of her work here. That is her own story to tell. I am simply yet genuinely honoring the beautiful human she is and the commitment to her own dream that is inspiring me to keep braver eyes and hands on my own.

May you all dream bright and bold this 2024. As my own dream mentor would say, may you all dream true.

Making to unhook, revitalize, and share with others

The artisan in me is catalyzed by two things:
-Moving the energy of strong feelings, and
- the spirit of giving.

So I’ve been in my hands imagining what feelings smell like, associating herbal scents to sentiments, making cards for my community with the intention to uplift and inspire.

It went something like this.

Love. Lavender and rose.
Comfort. Marigold, chamomile, vanilla.
Gratitude. Lemonbalm, peppermint, patchouli.
Encouragement. Lemon, orange, rosemary.
Dream. Cedar, mugwort, rose, chamomile, a dash of mint.

Can you feel and smell that?

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a ‘nez’. Literally, it means a ‘nose’ in French. Professionals who create perfume. When smelling a composition, I could break it down to its parts.

The result of this adventure: aromatherapeutic original art goodness for you and yours. Aka scented cards from natural organic herbal blends. All made by hand.

Write a note to someone you love that comes with a sachet of pure bliss. Make your words travel on a smell and create an experience worth a lasting memory. That’s the idea.

Self-care, inner resources, strength

This is my offering for today. It's good for the heart, it's good for the soul. Asking our hands what they know is helpful to give our minds a rest and our feelings a place to be expressed. My intention for today’s practice was just to breathe. This is the image that found me in response. I called her "She Sees". She is watching, feeling, paying attention to the field, caring deeply about what is unfolding. I thought you may enjoy watching the intuitive creative process, and possibly joining me in your own self-care and expression when it feels right.

Growing, stretching, creating

Dear friends, thank you for following my work in the intuitive arts for this long - I am grateful to each of you for participating in this adventure of finding soul with me.

This past week I've had the privilege of joining Realistic Health & Wellness WNY as a Soul Power life coach, the personal guidance offering I created to support you in your own healing and creative journey via the hands-on practice of imagination, intuition, and creativity.

For nearly a decade now I've been fascinated by the power of soul to lead better lives. By "soul" I mean the energy that keeps us inspired, alive, and well, and by "better" I mean practicing living more in tune with this energy so we can feel at home within ourselves in our lives.

The concept of home and homecoming is central to my practice. Our bodies are soul catchers that host the magic of our spirit for a spell here, and during the course of our lives, it is all too common to lose a direct, healthy, and co-creative connection with our inner power.

Throughout the years, I found that reclaiming this inner bond is necessary to our well-being - having a direct impact on our daily lives, our health, and the futures we aspire to create.

I took my Soul Power practice on the road for a while now, driving to people's homes for one-on-one sessions. Today I am excited to welcome you all to this beautiful space at 6399 Transit Rd in East Amherst.

We are hosting an open house this Friday at 6pm if you would like to know more about this wonderful place, the amazing practitioners there, and the healing modalities offered to support you on your own path.
