On Veterans Day, we honor the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces. Alongside celebrating their courage, it’s also important to acknowledge the mental health challenges many veterans face. The transition from military life to civilian life, the effects of trauma, and the memories of service can weigh heavily on veterans.
While physical health often gets the spotlight, mental health is equally essential to veterans' well-being. PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions are common among veterans, and seeking support can sometimes feel difficult. As a community, we can offer understanding, compassion, and encouragement to those who might need it.
Today, take a moment to thank a Veteran in your life. Check in on them and their families. And if you know a family that needs support, reach out to us to learn more about NAMI Homefront.
