A big shoutout to on his amazing progress the past two months ✨

Matt began working with us in January, aiming to gain muscle and increase strength as a supplement to his training as a pretty impressive climber 🧗🏼

Here are some of his accomplishments from the past 8 weeks:

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻? ⁣

The first two pictures were taken this morning, While the last two were taken 6 months apart in January/June of 2020 my weight has not changed drastically either. My weight is anywhere from 152-157 within the last year. ⁣

Nothing has been radically different with my dietary changes within the last year. ⁣

What has been different is my 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 with food. ⁣

I’ve gone from logging my foods, doing hand portions, intuitively eating, fasting, weighing my food and overeating 𝗔𝗟𝗟 within the last year.⁣

But every time I wanted to have a snack I did so without feeling guilty! I knew if I focused on eating a balance of greens, grains, lean protein, and workout out a few times a week, that cookie, Reese’s cup, pastry, wasn’t going to be the end of my hard work. ⁣

Is your method to eating (diet, fasting, etc.) going to get you the results you want?⁣

Maybe. ⁣

Is that the only way you can get to your goals? ⁣

No. ⁣

What’s going to get you to your goals is consistently eating whole, minimally processed, colorful foods. That just means you’re making good decisions every day (yes even your trash panda days). ⁣

🌟 Client Spotlight 🌟⁣

This is Erin! ⁣
We started with Erin in June, and she weighed 192lbs. She is a CPT in the U.S. Army and wanted to be able to pass the Height/Weight requirements and not be taped. This is what happened 4 months later with consistent hard work, and trusting our method. ⁣

🔸 She now works out 5 days a week and found an exercise regimen that works for her, and enjoys it! ⁣

🔸 She has become more positive and overall happier with her life.⁣

🔸She has learned the “how” of nutrition and gets to continue to apply everything she has learned with nutrition, without us. ⁣

🔸She was still able to eat treats and drink without feeling restricted from foods that bring her joy. ⁣

🔸She now weighs 171 and has lost 22 pounds in this process and won’t require being taped ☺️⁣

One thing that Erin was not expecting was for her transformation to be more about her life, than the pounds she lost. We are so proud of you, and this makes us feel incredibly special to be a part of your life. ⁣

𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 - 𝗬𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘 ⁣

Let’s be real. We know you’re not going to give up all treats for the rest of your life. So why aim for 100% “clean” if it’s not sustainable? ⁣

Here are some of the guidelines we recommend:⁣

🔹 𝗔𝗶𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟵𝟬% “𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱” 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 ⁣

If you’re trying to get lean, improve fitness performance, or just want to be healthier in general, this means minimizing intake of calorie-dense, nutrient-deficient foods. Try to focus on filling your plate with protein, greens, fruits, and a complex carb before you dig into the treats. ⁣

🔹 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀⁣

Treats don’t always have to be horrible for you! If you’re a big fan of a specific treat, try to find a new option that fulfills the craving without blowing your intake for the day. Here are some examples:⁣

➖ Ice cream ➡️ Yasso bar⁣
➖ Sugary cereal ➡️ boring cereal with fruit⁣
➖ Regular pancakes ➡️ Kodiak cakes⁣

🔹 𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 ⁣

If you’re at a birthday party, don’t feel guilty about eating some cake. If you’re out for happy hour, enjoy a drink. If you’re at a restaurant for date night, order some dessert. Be realistic with your expectations, and try to get back to the clean choices without feeling like you’ve lost all progress!⁣

We don’t want you to feel obligated to workout. Find your niche and let it be something you look forward to doing every day. That can be anything from Yoga, CrossFit, Orange Theory Fitness, or just yourself and a pair of 🎧.⁣

It is important to stay moving, and give yourself a break from the day! ⁣

We get this question a lot, and we completely understand why. Tracking is tedious. Tracking takes time away from other priorities. Tracking accurately is challenging. ⁣

There are always a million reasons not to do something. ⁣

So we look at it from a different perspective: clients are just trying to ask 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝙈𝙀?⁣

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴?⁣

1️⃣ The intake log allows us (your coaches) an 𝘰𝘣𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 look into your diet, which informs our recommendations. ⁣

2️⃣ Taking the time to log your food, ideally prior to eating, encourages 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 about your eating habits. ⁣

3️⃣ By gathering large amounts of 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 over time, we can better assess trends and deficiencies in order to develop feasible solutions that will support long-term goals. ⁣

4️⃣ We want our clients to 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯! It’s difficult to look objectively at your own diet, and most people are genuinely doing the best they can with what they know. The intake log allows us to illustrate specific examples where a simple swap would make a great impact, or where there is a gap that needs to be addressed. ⁣
