Beloved mother of Rachel Rodriguez, Ramon "Ray" (Kathie) Gallardo and Patricia Gallardo-Mazzone; cherished grandmother of Christina Rodriguez, Nicholas (Jennifer) Gallardo, William Gallardo, Daniel (Kaitlyn) Gallardo and James Mazzone; adored great-grandmother of Dorien Smith, Jackson, Hannah, Harrison, Javier, Ripley and Reed Gallardo, and the late Karima Smith; loving daughter of the late Alfonso and Isabel Grajeda; dear sister of Maria "Soci" (late Joseph "Yadi") Barilec and the late Frances (late Jose "Chepo") Carrasquillo, late Estella Escabi, late Joseph (late Esther) Grajeda and late Roy (late Shirley) Grajeda; also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and many other relatives in Chicago, IL, Florida and New Jersey.

Of Williamsville. Affectionately known as Trudy, passed away on January 12, 2026. A very independent, strong and charming woman, who survived her husband Gaetano (Tom) Gammacurta's untimely death in 1989, and other challenges in life, lived to enjoy the bonus years in good health. On July 1, 2022, she celebrated her 90th birthday with a family picnic surrounded by her many loving nephews, nieces, and their families and friends. She is the last of the nine siblings and spouses from the family of Pietro and Rosa Gambacorta, eight of whom emigrated from Campobello di Licata, Italy to Buffalo in the 1900's. Trudy came to Buffalo in the early 1950s, leaving her home and family in Munich, Germany. She is the daughter of the late Karl and Anna Acklmann and sister of the late Anna (Werner) Bartel, Stilla (Heinrich) Stahle and Karl (Helga) Acklmann. A memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, 200 St. Gregory Ct. Williamsville, NY, on January 31, 2026 at 1:00 where family and friends are invited to celebrate a loving and remarkable woman. Ever the optimist, she had faith that the Bills would have better luck next year.

She had a passion for food, baking, cooking, needle work but her biggest passion was her love for her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leda’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
