I came to jfs for career counseling through ACCESS VR, but what I received instead was deceitful manipulation by Lisa August, Sally Engel and Suzanne Stockie.
Instead of assisting a disabled, unemployed, almost senior woman who is at great risk of becoming homeless they lorded their power over me and without my knowledge or consent they decided to "counsel" me behind my back.
Sally Engel sent me to Lisa August for career counseling but what Lisa August was really doing was collecting information.
Suzanne Stockie and Sally Engel want to force me into counseling instead of helping me to find work so that I can take care of myself as I age
Lisa August pretended she was career counseling me but she was really just sending info back to Sally Engel and Suzanne Stockie to try to build a case against me and treat me like I am crazy.
They are accusing me of being crazy because I spoke up for myself.
This is how the 20- and 30-year-old generations treat their elders, but what is your excuse Lisa August?
It is now one year later and I am still jobless and almost homeless.
This is not a case of Lisa August, Sally Engel and Suzanne Stockie doing what they think is best for me, but a case of three women ganging up on a completely sane woman who has the guts to speak up for herself in an effort to punish her.
Lisa August-I shared my private art work with you thinking you were on my side. I spoke to you as though you were on my side. I allowed myself to feel hope again after the abuse I received from Suzanne Stockie and Sally Engel at ACCESS VR.
I feel violated and abused by you as well.
I feel violated by the three of you. I came to you for help but instead I have been forced to fight my life and my sanity.
Sally Engel has now refused to assist me with career counseling unless I agree to counseling first.
This was not a requirement when I was accepted into ACCESS VR, but it is now suddenly one simply because I said to Alan Winship-he calls himself a career counselor too-"I don't think you are taking me seriously."
This is all a woman has to say to be considered "crazy" and in need of counseling.
In exchange for my admitting to insanity, ACCESS VR is willing to give me $500 for an online computer course.
One year ago I could have paid for that course all on my own. But now I am out of money and out of time.
These women have cost me a year of my life while my home is falling apart around me and my bank account dwindles away. Lisa August, Sally Engel and Suzanne Stockie-the following are words spoken from the heart of a completely sane 52 year old woman who has spent her life fighting the misogyny of both men and women.
You should all be ashamed of yourselves. I was serving my country quit possibly before you were even born and when you were still in schooling, I was becoming the first female in the history of my local fire department to become Captain or to hold any position of office. During the course of my life including as a child I single handedly stopped men from beating up on a woman. In private spaces as well as in public while no one else would a thing.
But the three of you treat me like I am not capable of deciding for myself if I should work or not. You think I should hand the reins of my life over to a complete stranger and allow her to decide what is right for me. To me, this is what sounds insane. Thank you, "ladies", for reminding me once again that as a strong, independent woman, I am completely alone in this world.
