🚨 OASIS-E2 Update for Home Health Agencies

Beginning April 1, 2026, CMS will implement OASIS-E2 with targeted revisions to improve accuracy, cross-setting alignment, and quality reporting.

Key changes include:

✔ New Patient S*x item (A0810) replacing Gender
✔ Updated Transportation item (A1255) with more detailed tracking
✔ Expanded Hearing, Vision & Language assessments at Resumption of Care (ROC)
✔ Removal of certain items to reduce documentation burden
✔ Applies to ALL patients regardless of payer

⚠️ Even minor revisions require workflow updates and staff training.

Agencies should review guidance, update protocols, and coordinate with software vendors now to ensure a smooth transition.

📅 Effective: April 1, 2026
