What a crafty week at Heatherwood! 🌸🎨

Our community celebrated the arrival of spring with decorative boots, watercolor pointillism, and beautiful pastel bird art. It was a week filled with creativity, color, and lots of smiles.

Spring Equinox Celebration 🌸✨
Our Inspiritás-memory care residents welcomed Spring with fresh herbs, soft florals, and hands in motion 🌿 Residents enjoyed herb butter and Buchette aux Fleurs from homegrown herbs. They also painted and decorated planters, and created aromatic sachets filled with calming seasonal scents 💐

🧪✨ Our Inspiritás-Memory Care residents had fun being scientists today during a Science Lab activity with Professor Feazell! We explored a colorful foam reaction and played
with oobleck, a mixture that acts like both a liquid and a solid. Lots of curiosity, laughter, and hands-on discovery!

We had a "sweet" time during our RUI University class with The Great Chocolate Roadshow! 🍫 Residents enjoyed tasting a variety of delicious chocolates while testing their knowledge with fun chocolate trivia. From learning about the history of chocolate to sampling different flavors, it was an engaging and delightful experience for everyone. A perfect blend of learning, laughter, and a little indulgence!

Our Memory Care residents enjoyed a fun cardio drumming class in the yard today! 🥁☀️ The beautiful weather made it the perfect time to get moving, enjoy the fresh air, and share lots of smiles together. 🌿😊

🌎 A Full-Circle Moment for Mr. Otto🛰

Mr. Otto's recent WOW Moment included a very special visit to NOAA Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Headquarters in Silver Spring, MD, where he explored the Science on a Sphere and Gateway to NOAA exhibits.

Having worked with weather satellites at NOAA since the early days of the agency, this experience brought back many meaningful memories for Mr. Otto. He was warmly welcomed by a special NOAA committee who prepared a private tour and presentation in his honor.
A highlight of the visit was when he received a commemorative Jefferson Cup, making this already special day even more memorable.

We are so grateful to the NOAA team for their kindness and for helping create such a meaningful moment celebrating Mr. Otto’s incredible legacy. 🌍✨

We wrapped up the month celebrating some of Heatherwood’s centenarians in the most joyful way 💙✨
Residents shared their words of advice, enjoyed sparkling cider, sweet treats, and fun games, and the celebration ended on a high note with live music from Adam Melia 🎶

A beautiful reminder that wisdom, laughter, and community only get better with time. 💫
