March Calendar Download! 🐟

After my latest newsletter joking about fish printing for my upcoming Printing Challenge, I heard from a few of you who have actually done it!

Known as Gyotaku, this art form originated in 19th century Japan as a way for fisherman to record the size of their catch. So rad!

But for now, this girl with all of her fish allergies, is going to stick with lovely graphic fish & printing with slightly less stinky objects 🫣

For my February calendar I wanted to highlight something hopeful 🌼

A group of Buddhist monks currently walking 2,300 miles from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C., on a Walk for Peace.

Originally, I created each figure with washi tape, including Aloka 💫 the monks’ rescue dog, who joined the group all on his own and quickly stole my heart. 🐾

Beenanza Design is a studio in Burlington, Vermont that was established solely for the love of design & pattern by me, Bethany Andrews-Nichols.

With over 12 years of graphic design experience, I specialize in print & pattern design with a focus in block printing. I strongly believe that the power, creativity, and compassion of women all over the world is what will bring about peace. I am a small piece of a powerful movement that will create a deeper appreciation for things ethically made by hand.
