When a role stays open for months, the work doesn't just vanish into thin air. It gets divided, absorbed, and piled onto your top performers.
The hidden cost of a "slow hire" isn't a saved salary—it's:

Burnout: Your best people are working at 150% capacity.
Resentment: High-performers feel penalized for being efficient.
Attrition: Eventually, the person carrying the extra load will look for a way to put it down... at another company.
