I recently closed my website and am slowly updating my Etsy. It's a lot of listings to work through, so it is in vacation mode for the time being.

I am working on my novel and prioritizing my writing.

Feels right to slow down and settle in with the season.

See you when the flowers begin to bloom, and the world reawakens.

First reaction: WTF.

I realized this is an opportunity to build better. I bought a nicer shelf with more room for growth.

A collapse is sometimes needed for new things to take shape. For new stories to be born.

I’ll update with the new shelf when it’s complete!

My daughter was shining star this week at school. She had to bring her favorite book today and she chose Mira the Mermaid.

I told her she didn’t have to just because I wrote it. She said “No, it really is my favorite.”

My kids are one of the reasons I write. For my inner kid, too. 🌀

The Dancing Tree

Up the road and at the bend
There is a tree I call a friend

On the path, I catch a glance
Of twisting branches lost in trance

Each passing day, I pay a visit
To the special tree with music in it

In each minute spent, I have found
That magic is in everything; it is all around

Within the earth, our breath, and sky
Rooted deeply in you and I

Connected by life and the air we breathe
Tied to an intricately woven tapestry

I sit beneath it, at its roots
It tells me stories, bearing fruit

Leaves drop in the fall and return in the spring
With revitalized movements and songs to sing

Through each season, her tune changes
Bending and expanding to new ranges

She teaches stillness, yet her moves are swift
You may catch a glimpse if speediness shifts

Uncaring who is watching, but welcomes your hand
Inviting you to find rhythm where time does not land

Swaying in the breeze, a delightful hymn
Loosening rigidity, limb by limb

Changes can come suddenly and without reason
But the dance continues through the seasons
