Emmy used her money and bought a rug and new bed. And within 2 days she hated it and we set up her old bed- she just admitted she will no longer be making large purchases based off looks 🤣🤪

It was such a quick turnaround I didn’t even get a picture of it in her room!

Emmy got served.

Yes, she was hand delivered court documents stating her parents are petitioning the court to maintain guardianship over her, as an adult

No parents want to have to take care of their adult children, but those of us special needs parents have to. WE HAVE TO- we have to because we are cut off from medical records, overseeing their money matters with joint accounts, signing insurance and medical documents and everything else we just don’t think about when they are under 18.

So yesterday we went as a family and testified, under oath, things I know to be real, but I don’t like talking about because SHE WAS BORN HEALTHY AND PHYSICALLY ABLED. I testified she can’t do anything without help. Absolutely NOTHING… except give us smart-ass comments and make us laugh at her hilarious comebacks.

Maybe one day, she won’t need us. Maybe one day a prince in shining armor will love Emmy and become her caretaker, but until then, we are just going to continue being her parents, but now it has to be authorized by a judge.

Emmy was invited to a Homesteading Clinic on Friday.

Besides the fact she loved every single second of being on a farm and hanging out with the highly trained Athena (German Shepherd) who literally protects Emmy every visit, Emmy planted, fished and learned sustainability-

Emmy has one request- MOVE US TO A FARM ASAP! 🐮🐓🦆🐐🐑

Emmy is at Camp this week. I had a really hard time sending her because the camp was overly concerned with Vaccine status. Emmy, of course, hasn’t been vaccinated since age 5 and whatever she received before that was erased during her bone marrow transplants.

The camp cleared her with a medical note, but she missed the regular camp she usually goes to and was placed in a different group with different kids… which might be a blessing in disguise.

Normally, Emmy has gone to camp with the kids who are more disabled mentally, which causes Emmy to only hang out with Camp Staff 😂. But this camp is more for chronically ill kids, more like herself. I’m praying that she makes more friends than just camp staff. Of course, she gets along with anyone and everyone, so we will see whose phone numbers she brings home on Friday!

Emmy is doing what she does BEST! She just taught her cousins Sheri and Jennings how to make rainbow loom bracelets.

If only I could find Emmy a job overseeing and training people in a corporation… she is the best instructor and manager I’ve ever met.

It’s probably because she’s so gifted in situational awareness, visual memory and being a BOSS!
