Spring is on its way, and so are those pesky allergies! 🤧

Is your child experiencing a runny nose, sneezing fits, or itchy eyes? They might be battling seasonal allergies! But fear not, relief is within reach.

When pollen’s got you down, reach for an OTC oral histamine such as Zyrtec (cetirizine), Claritin (loratadine), or Allegra (fexofenadine). These are non-sedating antihistamines that are given once daily for allergy symptoms.

And don’t forget about those itchy, watery eyes—Zatidor (ketotifen) eye drops are a great choice for kiddos over the age of 3. Place 1-2 drops into the inner corner of each eye twice a day.

Remember, consistency is key! Follow the same symptom relief routine each day though pollen season for maximum relief! 💪

Cold and flu season is upon us! That means sneezes, coughs, and fevers galore.

We’d like to remind parents that fevers themselves are not a bad thing! This tells us that the body’s immune system is doing its job. Offer some ibuprofen/acetaminophen for fever management and encourage lots of fluids (water, juice, popsicles, etc.)

Unfortunately, the RSV shot is in limited supply and the eligibility guidelines have changed. We recognize this may be frustrating, but we are doing our best to ensure that the shot reaches patients who need it the most.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this.

At WCPAM, we have chosen the 2 dose Moderna vaccine for our patients 6 months - 5 years. If the approval process goes according to plan, we will begin vaccinations the week of June 20. 🎉

Here's how your child(ren) can receive the COVID vaccine:
- Well visits
- Sick visits
- Vaccine clinics

We are unable to create the vaccine schedule yet, but we will send out a MyChart message and post on our website (westcambridgepediatrics.com/covid19) when time slots are available.

If you have questions specific to the COVID vaccine, please do not call the office, but instead send a MyChart message or reach out to your provider during call in hours (6:30 - 8:30 AM weekdays) and we will try to get back to you in a timely manner.

Thank you!

Top notch patient and family centered pediatric and adolescent care serving Cambridge and surrounding town.

There are direct connections between a child's physical, emotional, cognitive and social development, and routine health care visits are the best way to nurture those connections. We stress the importance of regular check-ups and encourage you to involve us in the developmental and emotional issues facing you and your child. Creating the time and space for building strong relationships with our patients and their families is what we care about most – it’s our passion!

Of course we are also here for you for sick and urgent visits. We want to help you avoid the emergency room and urgent care facilities. Therefore, a provider from our office is available 24/7 in case of emergencies and we can schedule urgent visits on the weekends and holidays. You can also reach your physician every weekday using their call in hours.
