Why rotation?? This is a biggie for everyone, but especially postpartum clients.

During pregnancy, your body adapts in a big way—your ribs expand, your center of mass shifts, your core and pelvic floor are under constant demand. To feel stable, your body often defaults to stiffness.

And one of the first things to get limited is rotation.

But rotation is a huge part of everyday movement:

• Walking
• Reaching and carrying your baby
• Even your rib cage moving with your breath

When it’s not there, something else has to pick up the slack. That can look like:
• Low back or hip discomfort
• Pelvic floor tension or heaviness
• Feeling tight, stuck, or off

Getting rotation back is about helping your rib cage, spine, pelvis, and pelvic floor move together again.

When that happens, things tend to feel easier:
• Less gripping, more support
• Better load sharing
• More natural movement

You don’t need to be more “stable.”
You need more options.

360 breathing= ability to breath in, fill your lungs, and expand your ribcage circumferentially (hence 360 degrees), expanding ribs out to the sides, front, and back with each inhale. The rib cage needs to be able to move in all directions. With inhalation the respiratory diaphragm contracts downward, creating negative pressure for the lungs to expand and fill with air. The ribs lift up and out and the chest wall expands and pressure is distributed throughout the core canister.

The pelvic floor, the diaphragm of the pelvis, accepts that pressure as organs are gently shifted downward within the abdominal cavity. The pelvic floor muscles should also be able to accept pressure and lengthen and recoil with our natural breathing. This is the give and take distribution of pressure that sets the stage for good pressure management within our system. Which is foundational for how we move.🙌

Tailbone pain isn’t always about the tailbone itself.

Your pelvic floor muscles attach directly to it, which means changes in tension or coordination can influence how it feels. But it doesn’t stop there.

Your breath, posture, movement patterns, and nervous system all play a role.

When we zoom out and look at the whole body—that’s when things actually start to change.
