Big jaw pop doesn’t always mean something is “out of place.”
The Temporomandibular joint is a disc joint, and that sound can come from pressure changes in the synovial fluid or the disc moving as the joint regains motion.
This is just one piece of TMJ care.
Real progress comes from improving movement, reducing muscle tension, and building control around the joint.
Soft tissue work and scraping (IASTM) are also a big part of the rehab process to release tension and help the joint move better.
