So often in our world we are surrounded by noise. As I sit here there are sirens in the distance, phones beep, cars backup and horns blare. We desire quiet and stillness in our lives that are anything but. Yoga Nidra and Sound both provide a needed break from the constant noise and movement of our everyday lives.
Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation technique that brings your attention to various parts of the body to create awareness but not attachment before moving onto another part of the body. It allows for rest and causes a deep feeling of relaxation leading to feelings of wellbeing, reduced stress, improved self- awareness, mood and sleep among many other benefits. Sound healing also leads to less depression, improved, mood, less tension and reduced stress. Movement, in the form of yoga, can help one rest more completely to receive the benefits of both of these practices therefore enhancing this outcome.
