The Silver Lining Strategy

The Silver Lining Strategy DON'T LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR JOY! If you are reading this , you knew our mother, Silver McGinnis Treft Haas. She inspired those around her. As above, so below.

After Silver’s passing, her family received an outpouring of love and compassion. The condolences were from people of every walk of life and from all around the world! We were and still are absolutely blown away by the outpouring of love, compassion, and kindness. We want to first thank you graciously for the outpouring of love! Second, we would like to invite you to help us honor Silver’s Memory. We ask for a few minutes of your time to help in spreading love and joy in Silver’s memory by being part of the Silver Lining Strategy: Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Joy! SILVER’S DREAM

If you knew Silver, you were one of the lucky ones! Silver exuberated courage, calmness, strength, kindness, compassion, sincerity, and love. She had a way of making people feel good about themselves. She was truly a real-life superhero! Silver carried herself with poise and class. Her smile could light up a room and instantly her warmth and love would be felt by everyone in her presence. She had a sense of calm that instantly made people feel at ease and comfortable talking to her. People felt drawn to Silver. As a child, it was annoying to know that every time we left the house it would never be a quick trip. She talked to absolutely everyone! Complete strangers felt the need to tell Silver their entire life story. She would patiently listen, give solid advice, and leave you abundantly filled with inspiration. After a conversation with Silver, you would leave feeling you could take on the world! Silver loved with every ounce of her being. She carried her heart on her sleeve and always looked for an opportunity to extend a helping hand. She believed in love and that sharing that same love with others would make the World a better place. The running joke was “We never knew what Silver was up to.”

It was just a joke in that moment, but after her passing we received countless messages telling us just exactly what she was up to. She was making a difference in the lives of an infinite amount of people! You see, we had no idea because she never once boasted or bragged. She saw a need and she filled it without a second thought! This was the core of who Silver was as a person! The messages we received were incredible! The list is so long, and we are adding new stories with every passing day. Her own family had NO idea how she has helped such an exuberant amount of people! She spent her entire life finding ways to help others. The word ‘NO’ wasn’t a part of her vocabulary. It didn’t matter how thin it would stretch her, or the amount of detriment to herself it may cause she would ALWAYS find a way to say Yes! As we know, saying yes to everything eventually wears on a person. Gifts of light and love come with a cost. Silver was an empath, intuitive and had the gift of discernment. She felt immensely deep, and constantly felt the weight of the world bearing down on her shoulders. She wanted nothing more than to save the world. Unfortunately, these gifts were also a disservice to Silver. It came to a point where she could no longer carry the burden this world thoughtlessly placed on her shoulders. She had absorbed everyone’s shadows with no space left for herself or her own well-being. She was consumed by the overwhelming feeling that she would nevermore find the light of hope again. The ones who deliver the light and love to all those around are often left feeling too weak to give themselves the same care they so effortlessly give to others. We have all felt alone at some point in our lives. The somber issues in life are the ones that are swept under the rug and left unspoken. When someone you love becomes a memory, their memory becomes a treasure. A beautiful treasure left only to cherish; A treasure you don’t want tainted by the grim reality of the darkness that plaques the lives of a myriad of people. We choose to eliminate the thought of darkness existing. Instead of choosing to forget the darkness, lets make it vanish completely. How do we do that you may ask. Simple. We radiate brilliance. We set the blackness ablaze. The only way to extinguish the pain and suffering countless others experience alone, afraid, and in the pitch-dark is by explaining that they are in fact not alone. Our mission is to reach the deepest, darkest crevasses with blinding luminosity. To put it short and sweet, we are here to light up the darkness! THE SILVER LININING

Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses. He sets the time for birth and the time for death

My Brother and I have spent the last year in devastation. We have been submerged in the trenches of grief and loss. 365 days filled with anger, resentment, and hatred towards a Higher Power. Bargaining and reasoning. Why us? Why our mom? What did we do to end up alone in the dark? Little did we know, never once were we alone. Mom was a firm believer that everything in this world happens for a reason. My brother and I have been praying, trying to decide what she would want us to do. She would want us to pick up her torch and RUN with it! Here is how we have chosen to spread the love, joy, and light to carry-on our mom’s selfless legacy:

We will no longer be sweeping under the rug the societal issues that the world has made us feel embarrassed to talk about. Tyler and I have made a pact to be honest, vulnerable, and authentically ourselves. To be open, raw, and real about the undeniable issues that we have both faced in our lives in hopes that our stories can help someone out there find the light waiting at the end. We will speak out about our battles with addiction, su***de, cancer, and grieving the loss of loved ones. We have chosen to be proud of every part of us by speaking out! We REFUSE to hide or deny it! We REFUSE to let anyone suffer, fight, or struggle alone! Through our mom’s strength, prayer, and our faith in a Higher Power, we know this is the path that has been chosen for us to walk. We want to ignite the spark of joy, hope, and strength in EVERYONE! We have found a way to do this, but here is where we need YOUR help! THE SILVER LINING STRATEGY
As I was going through Silver’s timeline, I found the following video. A beautiful blonde haired little girl is dancing and twirling to the Zach Williams, Old Church Choir song as she stands with her classmates before the crowd at church. The little girl in the video is having the time of her life, dancing to the beat of her own joy while the kids around her stand still and shyly sing. After this video came out, Silver shared this video with everyone! She started saying “Ain’t nobody going to steal my joy.” She shared this video once again right before her passing. We want to spread that joy and love in her honor by creating The Silver Lining Strategy: Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Joy! Like most people we have talked to or reached out to, I’m sure she made an impact on your life in some way. Picking up the light and legacy she left behind is going to take far more than one person. We are reaching out and asking if you would send us a two-minute video clip of anything you want to share with us about Silver. As Silver would insist, please be authentically and unapologetically you! Make it as unique and extraordinary as you are! Tyler and I are only two people but look at the impact one exceptional lady was able to make on this world!!! We ask for your help and support as we explore and build on this beautiful project. The ideas for this project are still coming to fruition but making the video in her honor is our first goal in spreading joy across the world! SHHHH…IT’S A SECRET: We are keeping this a surprise and want to release the video on Silver’s birthday this year and a day before the one-year anniversary of her passing. Please join us and share this message with the people you think would want to play a huge role in helping us spread the joy! We appreciate all videos, messages, and comments. We appreciate anything and everything that moves you to help us SPREAD THE JOY! Everyone is always up for a celebration, but few want to also expose the darkness. Please help us to also incorporate bringing these dark issues to the light, as well. As Silver would say, “Be loud, be proud, and don’t let anyone steal your joy.” Please help us spread the love! We appreciate your support in this endeavor! So Much Love,

Tyler Treft and Tiffany Hall
