A new chapter begins today.
I’m heading to Rancho La Puerta in Tecate Mexico for a week of guest teaching — a week of joyful embodiment, emotional release, laughter and deep human connection. New beginnings invite us to soften, breathe, and trust the unfolding… and I’m stepping into this one with a grateful, open heart. 🤍✨

Grief Yoga® helps us liberate the heavy emotions we carry in our bodies — the grief, tension, and old stories living in the body, quietly shaping how we show up. When we move, breathe, and give those emotions a pathway out, we create space for renewal and deep inner peace.

Laughter Yoga then releases any residual heaviness and invites increased oxygen and a happy chemical release creating lightness, safety, and possibility. Even intentional laughter rewires the nervous system, melts hidden tension, and opens a sense of inner spaciousness that so many of us long for. 🌿

I can’t wait to share with the guests the exploration of joy, laughter and emotional liberation as a daily practice: something we create intentionally through movement, breath, and compassionate awareness. Hahaha! Excited! Lets see who joins in the fun!✨

Here’s to saying yes to the next evolution of who we are becoming! 💛

Follow along for reflections and behind-the-scenes moments throughout the week.

👉🏼 What “new beginning” are you saying yes to in this season of your life?

About 10 years ago, I was going through an incredibly rough patch, having experienced five huge losses back to back. One of the last I experienced was loss of income, a byproduct of another big loss earlier in the year and my first ever panic attack leading to low-grade depression. It was a perfect storm. Everything seemed to be falling apart.

By the summertime, I was unable to go to the wedding of one of my besties because I didn’t have the income for it. I was mortified and felt like a failure…my thoughts racing with hateful words, my body holding the posture of worthlessness and defeat.

Looking back now, I know that my hormones were waaay out of balance, my nervous system was overwhelmed, and I went into a combination freeze response, unable to get out of bed with no desire to eat, and high anxiety, unable to sleep and shaking all the time.

I couldn’t have made it without the support of dear friends helping me to make my way through it, one step at a time.

For Halloween that year, I decided to be a zombie and do the Thriller dance on the main street of the city where I live. It was so fun, I was so into it! It made me feel alive to act like a dead person and scare people with my looks and screams.

I now realize that I was embodying my shadow side, the parts of me that were suffering, that felt like they were dying and falling apart - these parts felt validated and seen. Taking part in that Thriller dance was a vital part of my healing. I had no idea that, in pretending to be a zombie, I was really expressing the anger and outrage I had, which removed a layer of emotion and revealed the deep grief I was feeling due to all the losses. Grief I didn’t even know I had.

This is one of the many reasons why I’m so passionate about Grief dance. A dedicated and sacred space among the redwoods for you to be in your body with grief, and learn how to tend and befriend the suffering parts.

Join us if you are in the area and feel moved. If you know of someone that could benefit, please let them know about it. It will be a sacred and powerful experience. Can’t wait to share how it goes!

Deep thanks for the many friends that offered your huge hearts and incredible support, helping me to get through that very hard time. You live in my 💗💕heart forever!
