According to a national poll by the University of Michigan, seniors’ risk for falling may have increased due to decreased physical activity during the COVID pandemic, reported an All About Ann Arbor article. The poll also found that the pandemic has led many older adults to become more afraid of falling.

The family of a 63-year-old Massachusetts man reported him missing when he didn’t return from his hike up Mount Washington. The man took a long, sliding fall after taking a wrong turn. Injured and stranded in -6 weather, he was unable to call for help. The Ski Patrol didn’t find him until the next day.
