Carroll County Mental Health Advocates

Carroll County Mental Health Advocates Proudly supporting members of our community living with mental health and substance use disorders through advocacy in Carroll County, Georgia.

“Without treatment the consequences of mental illness for the individual and society are staggering”. The cost to individuals may show up as unnecessary disability, unemployment, homelessness, substance abuse, inappropriate incarceration, and/or suicide. The economic cost of untreated mental illness to society is “more than 100 billion dollars each year in the US” (NAMI). However, according to the National Alliance for Mental Illness (MAMI), access to treatment and recovery supports can accelerate recovery and minimize further harm related to the course of mental illness. Are you willing to support our efforts on behalf of our citizens who face mental illness? Do you have gifts or talents that could help this cause?

🍁 Holiday Schedule Update – Thanksgiving 2025 🍁

Hey y’all! As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to make sure everyone has the info they need:

📌 Our offices will be closed starting Wednesday, November 26th at 12 PM and will remain closed through Friday, November 28th, 2025.

✨ BUT—our support group meetings will still continue as scheduled.
Connection doesn’t take holidays, and we’re grateful to offer safe spaces where support, healing, and community can continue.

If you need someone to walk alongside you during this season, our doors might be closed, but our recovery community is still wide open.

We hope everyone has a warm, safe, and restful Thanksgiving.
We’re thankful for you. 🤍

Early Giving for Georgia Gives is open, and your support means everything!

At Carroll County Mental Health Advocates, we meet people every day who are fighting silent battles: a parent trying to stay in recovery, a veteran carrying trauma, a neighbor who simply needs someone to say, “You’re not alone.” Your generosity is often the moment their story turns toward hope.

When you give early, you help us keep vital services open; peer support, crisis navigation, support groups, harm-reduction outreach, and a safe place for adults who have nowhere else to turn.

If you believe in community… if you believe every person deserves dignity and support… please consider giving today.

💚💚Give early. Give hope. Give to CMHA. 💚💚

✨ Do you need someone to talk to?
✨ Do you need a safe place to breathe, process, or just not feel alone for a minute?
✨ Do you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to turn next?
✨ Do you simply need support from people who get it?

If you said yes to any of these — we have a place for you.

At The Recovery Spot of West Georgia, you are welcome to walk in, sit down, breathe, and be exactly where you are. Whether you’re looking to connect, heal, vent, learn new coping skills, or just not do life alone today… we’re here.

🕊️ Walk in anytime
🕊️ Or schedule an appointment
Because here, connection replaces addiction, and you never have to face the hard days by yourself.

✨ Friendsgiving 2025 was one for the books! ✨
Carroll County Mental Health Advocates would like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this event possible — our incredible CMHA Board, Simply Catering for the amazing food, and all of our Community Partners who showed up and showed out for our peers. 🤎

We had around 140 peers sign in at the event, and the love, connection, and support in the room was truly powerful. This is what community looks like. This is what hope feels like.

We are so grateful for each and every one of you. 🍂🧡

🌎💛 Happy World Kindness Day! 💛🌎

Today we celebrate one of the most powerful tools we have in recovery — kindness.
Whether it’s offering a smile, lending an ear, or giving grace to someone who’s struggling (including yourself), kindness has the power to change lives.

At The Recovery Spot, we believe kindness isn’t just an act — it’s a way of life that fuels healing, connection, and hope. Recovery reminds us that everyone is fighting a battle we may not see, and a single act of kindness can make all the difference.

✨ Be kind to others.
✨ Be kind to yourself.
✨ Be kind to your recovery journey.

Let’s make kindness contagious today — and every day. 💛

Always remember, we’re here to support you on your path to recovery.

Visit us in person for peer support and connection.
