We celebrated Passover today!
Passover is found in both the old and New Testament. It is celebrated in remeberance of when God brought his people out of Egypt and is instructed as of one seven holy days (holidays) God wants us to celebrate.
In the New Testament Jesus is the Passover lamb who died for all our sins.
Passover is such a beautiful reminder of Gods love, faithfulness, and ability to redeem any situation.
I thought I took more pics but I guess this was it. We feasted, made crosses and temples, talked about what God has done and continues to do for us, discussed the exodus story, why we celebrate Passover and the significance of these holy days. Cowgirl K spent the day sick with the stomach flu which put a damper on our festivities, but we are prayerful she’ll feel 100% soon.
Tomorrow begins the feast of unleavened bread which we will also participate in. We hunted for foods with leavening and removed them from our home today. We will eat unleavened bread (Matzah) over the next 7 days. This is a physical reminder of what God did for the people when they left Egypt, but removing leaven is also symbolic of the removal of sin from our lives and the spiritual cleansing Jesus provided on the cross.
First Fruits (resurrection day) is coming soon and we are so excited to celebrate and rejoice in our risen lord!
