We want to invite you to join us THIS Saturday as we participate in First United Methodist Church Murfreesboro’s Poverty Simulator. “For those of us who are able to meet our families’ basic needs without assistance, it can be difficult to truly understand the daily realities faced by families living in poverty—the constant decisions, fears, and frustrations. That is why we encourage you to take part in this powerful experience.

During the simulation, participants assume the role of a low-income family member living on a limited budget. The experience is divided into four 15-minute sessions, each representing one week of managing household responsibilities and meeting basic needs. As one participant shared, “This poverty simulation dramatically demonstrates how much time and energy many families must give just to survive day to day. It quickly dispels the myth that people would do fine if they would only go out and get a job.”

We hope you will join us for this impactful and eye-opening experience.”

We would love for you to join us for this FREE event. Follow the link below to sign up! Childcare is available at no cost for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old if you sign up for childcare as part of your registration. Light snacks will also be provided for participants.

“For I know the plans I have for you…” – Jeremiah 29:11

Recovery isn’t an accident.
It’s purpose.
It’s promise.
It’s hope restored.

At Recovery Is The New High, we believe no story is finished. No mistake is final. No setback is permanent. There is always a future and it’s brighter than the past.

Faith reminds us that God has plans for peace, not harm.
Recovery reminds us that healing is possible.
Community reminds us we don’t walk it alone.

From brokenness to breakthrough.
From survival to purpose.
From addiction to freedom.

The plan was always bigger than the pain.
