Hello everyone! My name is Dr. Sarah Abbott, and I'm the owner and physical therapist at Cultivate Physical Therapy.

I specialize in treating pelvic floor dysfunction for all ages and genders.

Pelvic floor therapy may look a little different with me. I treat using 1-on-1 hands on care where we focus on finding the root cause of your issues. When you come to therapy at Cultivate, you don't get left in a room by yourself doing passive treatments while I work with other clients. You get 100% of my attention and treatment that actually works. You also get a full 60 minutes of treatment every time you come to therapy.

Hello, Cedar Valley!

Cultivate Physical Therapy is a clinic specializing in pelvic health for ALL ages and genders and after close to 4 years in Ankeny, we have moved to Cedar Falls! Dr. Sarah is excited to be back in her hometown and to help everyone in the Cedar Valley have the best pelvic health available to them.

Our opening date has been updated to be February 2nd, 2026! More updates will continue to happen as we get closer, including a fun open house and other events.

We're moving!!

I (Dr. Sarah) will be moving my family and the clinic up to Cedar Falls! We're excited to be closer to family and be another generation living on my family farm! The new clinic location (opening date of January 12th) will be:

The last day that the Ankeny location is open is December 18th, 2025.

Is pelvic floor physical therapy just kegels? Nope! And if that's what your therapist is doing, please find a new one!

Pelvic floor PT should look at the entire body to find out why you're having issues. That often also includes an internal assessment and treatment to give us a better idea of what's going on. Looking at how you move and breath is also incredibly important to treat and prevent future issues.

Rarely do we prescribe kegels as the pelvic floor needs to coordinate and adapt to how you move throughout the day. Frequently we also find that patients have a lot of tightness and aren't able to relax their pelvic floor, leading to issues.
