The perfect location? So the property under contract in Cedar Mill is located at 13330 N. W. Glenridge Drive, 97229. Is it the perfect location for Bloom!? Well, probably not, because I’m not sure “perfect” exists :-) However, it comes pretty darn close to meeting all of my initial requirements.
It’s a large piece of property (1.4 acres) in a nice residential neighborhood, on a quiet street with a couple beautiful trees. There are a number of houses on Glenridge past our location, BUT the street dead ends .2 miles past our address so, there will never be “through” traffic speeding down the street to get around slow downs on Cornell Road.
Stops are close by for Tri-Met bus lines 42 and 68, taking you to the Sunset Transit Centre, the Tanasbourne area up at 185th, even get you to Washington Square Mall, plus many stops in between. (And, of course, our residents who do not drive will qualify for Tri-Met lift program rides.) There is also a Tri-Met operated van service that goes through Cedar Mill from Bethany to the Sunset Transit Centre.
From Bloom! it’s a short walk to Home Depot, Safeway, Target, the Cedar Mill Community Library, and three or four different bank branches. In 30 minutes or less, you can walk to both locations of the Sunset Athletic Club, the THPRD Sunset Park Sports Complex which includes a pool, track, tennis/pickleball courts, and baseball and soft ball fields. You can quickly get to Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Dairy Queen, Jamba juice, and multiple other fast food spots. Not to mention, the wealth of “real” restaurants covering just about every cuisine you could want.
So, while maybe not “perfect”, Bloom! will be located in a safe, walkable, friendly neighborhood making it an ideal spot for our family members to call home.
