Meeting her Surgeons today!

Headed to Boston to meet her Surgeons. Due to insurance, they have to physically evaluate her before surgery can be scheduled, so away we go 🛫

Spent the day at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Echo had an Ultrasound done, Nuclear Medicine to check her kidneys, met with her Neurologist, and follow up with her Nephrologist. We are flying to Boston Children's Hospital in 11 days to meet and get evaluation from her Surgeons.

Hi Everyone thank you for stopping by the page! My 9 year old daughter Echo has been diagnosed with a heart condition called Midaortic Syndrome.

Midaortic syndrome is a very rare condition in which the middle portion of the aorta (the heart’s largest blood vessel) that runs through the chest and abdomen is narrowed. This can lead to insufficient blood flow in the chest, abdomen and lower limbs. Midaortic syndrome is also sometimes called narrowing or coarctation of the abdominal aorta. A related condition called renovascular hypertension is high blood pressure that results from decreased blood flow to the kidneys. Severe hypertension is often the first sign of midaortic syndrome. This is a very serious condition and requires urgent and thoughtful attention and care.

She has had many visits to University of Iowa Children's Hospital, and they are now referring her to Boston Children's Hospital for surgical intervention.

She has several upcoming appointments in Boston to prepare for her surgery.

Any help for Echo would be greatly appreciated by her and her entire family.
