ACT NOW! https://action.thearc.org/Uw7hIhY?p2asource=email-2025-1027

Food isn’t optional; it’s survival. For millions of people, including people with disabilities, food assistance means the difference between a full pantry and an empty one.

But unless Congress acts immediately, food benefits could stop as soon as November 1. Families are already stretched thin, and soon they could face impossible choices between food, medicine, rent, and heat.

Here’s what’s at stake:
Programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) are lifelines for families, older adults, and people with disabilities.
• SNAP feeds about 42 million people, including 4 million people with disabilities.
• WIC supports nearly 7 million women, infants, and young children.
Even short disruptions in food assistance can harm a child’s nutrition and development and leave families without stability. Without these programs, millions could face hunger.

Congress has the power to prevent this crisis. Send a message now urging them to take action today to protect food assistance programs before it’s too late. No one should go hungry, especially when solutions are within reach.

We are proud to stand with 800+ national, state, local, civil rights,
education, and disability advocacy organizations in condemning
the mass layoffs at the Department of Education (ED) —
jeopardizing decades of progress in protecting students with
disabilities.

We urge the Administration and Congress to protect children and
immediately restore staffing and support at ED. It’s a moral and
legal obligation for our nation's children.

Just a reminder that not all disabilities are visible and that inclusion matters. 🧡

Just a reminder that not all disabilities are visible and that inclusion matters. 🧡

Invisible disabilities are conditions that aren't immediately noticeable but can still significantly impact daily life. They include things like chronic pain, mental health conditions, learning differences, and more.

About 10% of Americans live with an invisible disability, meaning it's more common to meet someone with an unseen disability than you might think!

For those living with invisible disabilities, it can be hard to get the accommodation and support they need. Because their challenges aren’t always visible, their disabilities are sometimes misunderstood or not taken seriously. But just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

This week is Invisible Disabilities Week. Take a minute to share this post to remind others that not all disabilities are visible and that inclusion matters.
