Beneath Japan’s sea lives a symbol of motherhood.

Titled “Ocean Gaia” by artist Jason deCaires Taylor, the sculpture features the face of Kiko Mizuhara, a Japanese-American model, actress, and designer. It celebrates as the ultimate creator, a source of life, fertility, and renewal.

Resting nearly 16.5 feet beneath the sea off the island of Tokunoshima, Ocean Gaia serves as an artificial reef that welcomes marine life to flourish within its open, porous form. It beautifully unites art, ecology, and the feminine force that sustains us all. 💙
