Vitamin C, also known as, L-ascorbic acid, Ascorbic acid, and L ascorbate is an essential water soluble vitamin.

As athletes, including Vitamin C into our diet is REQUIRED. Vitamin C has been shown to have many different health benefits & performance benefits for endurance and ultra endurance athletes.

Currently the Recommend amount of vitamin C is the minimum to avoid vitamin C deficiency. Therefore, increasing the amount of Vitamin C consumed can be done! However, depending on the circumstances, talk to a Sports Dietitian for proper dosage.

Improper nutrition recovery can lead to...

1. Increased fatigue during training, work, and school
2. Reduced performance at your next training or game
3. Increased muscle soreness
4. Won't benefit from the improvements you made from pratice or games.

Hydration is also one of the most unique and complex things to recommend to an athlete. Every athlete is different when it comes to Hydration. This is mainly due to the fact that all athletes sweat differently, play different positions, work at different intensities, compete at different duration and so on.

Therefore, it is suggested to follow Hydration strategies rather than actual generic number recommendations. However, working with a sports dietitian can help you figure how much much fluid you need to stay properly hydrated for your sport and lifestyle!
