On Saturday May 2, Cleary school for the Deaf PSA is pairing up with some amazing community members to bring a morning of FITNESS and FUN! Get ready to work out with two class options while your kiddos explore hands-on spring themed sensory stations, obstacle courses and so much more! Some special “guests” from the Lucky Ducks petting zoo will also be in attendance ! Can’t wait to see you there.

As a BCBA and parent, I know we can’t expect kids to just know how to do something—we have to teach it, model it, and practice it first 💛
So yes… we’re out here doing a ‘practice’ Easter egg hunt 🐣✨

Because skills don’t just appear on the big day. They’re built through repetition, guidance, and a little bit of fun along the way.

Whether it’s taking turns, following directions, waiting, or staying with mom—these moments matter.

Some days I feel like I’ve lived three lives before dinner.

Taught Parent & Me Sensory Class at The Nesting Place, graphed some discrete trial data, hopped on parent training calls, designed new Kindred Naturals promotional products — and still ended the day playing with my daughter.

I’m tired… but it’s the kind of tired that feels full. The kind that reminds me I’m building something meaningful — for my family, for the parents I support, and for myself. 💛

“Isn’t that just bribing my child?” 👀
I hear this all the time when I talk about using rewards.

Here’s the truth ⬇️
👉 Bribery happens in the heat of the moment (“If you stop yelling, I’ll give you a cookie”).
👉 Rewards (reinforcement) are planned ahead to teach skills, build motivation, and celebrate effort.

When used consistently, rewards aren’t about “buying” good behavior — they’re about showing your child that positive actions lead to positive outcomes. 💕

So yes, you can absolutely use rewards without bribing. The key? Intention + consistency.
