Never underestimate the value of meeting someone where they’re at for heartfelt conversation.

It makes all the difference.

That’s where the healing starts. 💚

Not every door is meant to be knocked on twice.
Not every place is meant for you to stay.

When you remain where you feel unseen,
unheard, or unappreciated,
you slowly start abandoning yourself.

You tolerate more.
You explain more.
You shrink more.

And over time,
your peace fades.

In Buddhist understanding, attachment keeps us tied
even to what harms us —
because we hope, we expect, we fear letting go.

But awareness brings clarity.

You begin to see:
Not everything deserves your presence.
Not everyone deserves your energy.

And leaving is not rejection —
it is self-respect.

You don’t need to argue.
You don’t need to prove your worth.
You don’t need to stay where you are not valued.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do
is quietly walk away.

Because self-care is not always about comfort.
Sometimes, it is about courage.

The courage to choose peace
over familiarity.
Respect over attachment.
Yourself over everything that drains you.

So remove yourself from what hurts you.

And make space
for what honors you.

That…
is real self-care.

April 16th is World Semicolon day.

I share this in honor of my father who I lost to su***de and for the many I love who keep going despite the pain of loss.

Let’s face it: our society isn’t great at talking about grief.

Sharing Kindness is starting the conversation with “Grief 101” presentations across the Cape & Islands. These free events cover tough topics in a way that’s relatable, approachable, and engaging for all ages. We welcome you to join us at a location near you to learn more about grief and supporting the people in our lives who are going through it.

*Events listed as “Loss from Substance Use” include a focus on grief from stigmatized losses, such as those from overdose.

Hi Friends,

Becoming a professional grief coach is never something I envisioned for myself.

However…I have learned that loss has a way of revealing meaningful paths forward when you let it. (I didn’t always let it 😉)

I proudly and compassionately coach others as they discover their own way after enduring losses of any kind. ✨

Emotional healing and rebuilding life after loss is possible and each of us is worth it.

Stay tuned…I am actively working to expand Sonnabend Grief Support so I can reach more people and share more courageous conversations about the people we love. 🤍

THANK YOU for being part of my story and my way forward.

Sharing the incredible services offered by Brave Start Stables. ✨

There are many ways to engage in your own personal growth and emotional healing.

Have you considered equine wellness services? Professionals like Nanci A Williams make reconnecting to life after loss possible. 💚

Just because we can carry it alone, doesn’t mean we have to.

In life, we can become accustomed to taking on more than our fair share. “It’s easier to do it myself.” “This way I won’t have to fix it after.”

And, in the short term, this seems like a working strategy. The problem is, over time, this can lead to a disrupted nervous system. You may find yourself shutting down from exhaustion or in overdrive from taking on more than your fair share.

It’s ok to say “no”. It’s ok when tasks aren’t perfect. It’s ok to delegate. And, it’s ok to rest.

If you’re wanting a supportive environment to reset, recharge, and release….This is the place for you.

Come meet women who understand and horses who will open up a world of new possibilities.

You deserve to take time for yourself. You are worth it.

This is one of the many myths we’ve been socialized to believe.

You cannot emotionally heal from painful experiences by hiding, avoiding or talking yourself into “just moving on”.

Our true strength resides in our honestly, our willingness and our acknowledgment of the pain we feel.

Show up for yourself when you’re enduring loss and experiencing negative emotions.

It’s ok to cry. Let the tears and the words flow.

Your amazing heart is worth it and needs the release. 💚✨
