RE: DONATION REQUEST FOR THE LALANNE FOUNDATION
(EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM)

Dear Friends of Haiti:

Greetings. My name is Harris G. Lalanne, president and CEO of a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Haitian children. I am writing to invite you to be part of our sponsorship program to fund school tuition for children in Trou du Nord, North-East, Haiti.

Our sponsorship program takes a two-pronged approach to improve educational access and quality for Haitian children.

As described in the attached flyer, your generous contribution will enable thirty (30) Haitian children to receive a classroom education which they would otherwise not have access to. The sponsorship program also provides professional development training for classroom teachers, empowering them to improve the quality of their instruction.

Scholarship recipients (15 boys and 15 girls) will receive a balanced education which combines standard classroom instruction with exposure to Arts, and time dedicated to physical activity. Students will be invited to play soccer, study and perform music, and take computer classes.

At the end of the scholarship program, a neutral third-party will conduct an evaluation of program effectiveness. The Lalanne Foundation will review all auditor findings to determine if future enhancements are needed to strengthen or maintain the program’s effectiveness. (See program calendar on page two).

For a quality education through structured socio-economic care

1.- Direct beneficiaries: 30 students (15 girls and 15 boys) from underprivileged families in the commune of Trou-du-Nord (North-East Department of Haiti)

2.- General objective: Participate in the schooling of children through effective and structured socio-economic care

2.1.- Specific Objectives
• Provide economic assistance through a sponsorship system;
• Improve the quality of education for children in the Commune of Trou-du-Nord;
• Economically support some Haitian families in the expenses related to the education of their children;
• Make a significant contribution to building a new society in Haiti.

3.- Expected results
At the end of the first year of implementation, the following results are expected:
• The schooling of about thirty Haitian students is paid through a sponsorship system;
• School supplies (Suitcase, Pen, Notebook) are distributed for the benefit of Haitian students;
• Pupils have benefited from a quality education;
• Beneficiaries' academic performance is improved.
