📣Attention Medicare Health Alliance Advantage Members, we have an update from our SHIP counselor:

Health Alliance Medicare Advantage members actually have until December 31st to enroll in a different Advantage plan or go back to Traditional Medicare by enrolling in a part D plan. Originally, we had announced that those beneficiaries only had through the regular Open Enrollment period of October 15th - December 7th but we have found out that's not the case due to the Special Enrollment Period. We apologize for the misunderstanding.

If you are still needing help with your Medicare options after losing Health Alliance Medicare Advantage, please call 217-352-6533 to make an appointment with a SHIP counselor.

Did you have a plan on Healthcare.gov last year? You might have been automatically enrolled in a new plan on Get Covered Illinois!

If you have proactively chosen your plan on Get Covered Illinois, make sure to pay your premium by January 1! If you have not proactively chosen your new plan and checked the premium, it's important to check so you are not surprised by a different premium or enrolled in something you do not want. Without the enhanced tax credits, some premiums will be very different!

December 15, next Monday, is the last day to choose a plan that starts on January 1!

To have your Marketplace coverage start on January 1, you must be enrolled by December 15! We're here to help review you...

If you did not catch it earlier this week, CCHCC Director Claudia Lennhoff shared her thoughts on STRIDES in the News-Gazette.

"CCHCC would like to see increased funding for Strides in the form of an intergovernmental agreement between Champaign and other municipalities, and the county, to provide funding to sustain Strides for the long-term."

As of 11/20, there are no longer SHIP appointments available in Champaign County for those who are still needing Medicare Open Enrollment Assistance. We are now recommending those who haven't chose a plan and are looking for guidance call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).

For Medicare Advantage members, we'd like to highlight the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period between January 1 and March 31 where you can switch out your Advantage plan for a different Advantage plan for any reason.

If you need assistance switching plans in 2026, we will have appointments available for the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period.
