I'm closing my Chapel Hill office by the end of January 2025

I'm sad to announce that my landlord wants to rent the whole suite including the classroom to a single customer and I'm being forced out of my office, after 13 years in Southern Village! I will be available to see clients in person from after Thanksgiving through January 31, when my lease expires. I will of course still continue to see clients online anytime.

On August 8 I’m presenting a poster at the APA conference in Seattle. Based on a controlled fMRI study at University of Zurich, Switzerland. These brain scans show not only when the participants enter a hypnotic state but when that state deepens!

About Loneliness
Loneliness, a sense of disconnection from others often due to social isolation, is an epidemic of our times. Loneliness is not about being alone, although that may be a factor. It is both an unfortunately common human experience, and a public health concern. Loneliness can have a negative impact on health, and actives stress responses in the body, significantly increasing the risk of a number of physical and mental health issues including inflammation, heart disease, and a suppressed immune system, not dissimilar to the health risks we normally associate with smoking or obesity.
This Guided Meditation is about 15 minutes long and uses gentle imagery to help you feel connected, both to yourself and to people around you.
