Happy New Year and welcome back, everyone! Just wanted to share this awesome opportunity happening virtually this Tuesday, January 10th, at 6pm! Dr. Olivia Caron will be leading an IPE session on Substance Abuse/Misuse and Harm Reduction Strategies in WNC. This is a great chance to talk/learn about all things harm reduction with other health disciplines (MD, Nursing, Public Health, Dental, Social Work, and more). StOMP's annual Valentine's Day bake sale is here!

Pre-order (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdqhm8ao89zIxEEKihjEuaz6qyYgt0kN5kN2_iLgajIYeEk5g/viewform) until Sunday, February 13th.
Baked goods will be homemade and distributed at the PharMart on Monday, February 14th during common hour. Limited availability baked goods will also be available then.

Everyone should know the signs of an overdose! Being able to quickly identify these common signs of an overdose allows the patient to receive the appropriate care quickly and save their life.

On behalf of StOMP and SNPhA, we want to thank everyone who contributed to the Safe Syringe Container Drive! We were able to donate an entire carload of containers to the NC Harm Reduction Coalition. We appreciate everyone who helped make this such a successful event!

The DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be on Saturday, April 24th! UNC SNPhA and StOMP are joining efforts with the UNC Police to dispose of drugs with the goal of limiting medication abuse. Sign up on HeelLife to have an opportunity to educate patients about drug disposal and help pass out free samples of an at-home disposal solution! We attend this event annually as a group and the in-person events in the past years have been great experiences. We hope to see you there virtually in May!

If you are interested in advocating for those with substance use disorders, collaborating interprofessionally with students and organizations outside of pharmacy school, and gaining unique, innovative leadership experience, apply today!
This is a longitudinal experience that will transition you to Director PY3 year so applications are only open to the class of 2024. Applications due March 12th by midnight.

TROSA is a local treatment facility that exists to help people with substance use disorders live healthy lives.
