Billy is a candidate for stem cell transplant. The requirements are checking into Hope Lodge on Dec 4-5 and staying for 80 days for treatment. The only thing is he needs a caretaker or two to stay 24/7. Caretaker(s) must be Covid vaccinated and stay 24/7. Caretakers can only switch out from Monday and leave the following Monday. Unfortunately, there is no one available. With two children with Autism at 2 different schools and my husband’s upcoming deployment, I cannot go.
If anyone is interested in helping out, please contact myself or Billy. Also please consider donating to his go fund me in the event we can possibly hire a caretaker that is not covered by insurance. Thank you.

i just finished up my testing for being a bone marrow donor & dad is about to step into his next bone marrow biopsy. thank you all for the kind thoughts this week.

the transplant cost is estimated from $500,000 to $1,000,000. our co-insurance cost will be 30%, leaving us owing between 150,000-300,000.
there are corporations and non-profits that can help, but they can only do so much.

i’ve been putting off posting an update, but right now, any donations would help more than you know.

dad will be undergoing a stem cell transplant in about six weeks. immediately following this, he will be moving to the Hope Lodge in Charleston for at least 100 days, where he will require a 24/7 caretaker. while we are seeking assistance for that, this may put me out of work for the foreseeable future and ultimately, his company may have to let him go which will end any financial assistance we’ve been getting, which has been minimal. while MUSC is looking into getting us financial help for the procedure itself, we’re already looking at thousands in medical bills from his time in Greenville. after recent talks with insurance, we will be having to pay a hefty amount out of pocket for the transplant, and ultimately, we don’t have it right now.
