We are home to the region's largest and busiest Level III neonatal intensive care unit and level I (highest level) pediatric intensive care unit. For our young patients, our pediatric physicians provide consultation and care in more than 30 specialties including adolescent medicine, allergy and immunology, cardiology, critical care medicine, endocrinology, hematology/oncology, infectious disease, neonatal-perinatal medicine, neurology, pulmonary medicine and surgery. For women, we offer obstetric services, including high-risk maternal-fetal medicine, in addition to a full range of gynecologic services. The CAMC Family Resource Center, located on the Women and Children's Hospital campus, provides short-term counseling, family-based health education and guided tours of our hospital's triage, labor/delivery/recovery and mother/baby units. The Children’s Advocacy Center provides children and families with professional, compassionate care to reduce trauma often experienced by children who are victims of abuse.

On Wednesday, Vandalia Health CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital joined other hospitals and families for a global ‘Wave of Light’ in memory of all the babies who lit up our lives for such a short time. During this commemoration of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, people across the world light a candle for one hour to honor and remember babies who we lost during pregnancy or soon after birth, creating a continuous "wave of light" spanning the earth for a 24-hour period that symbolizes love and remembrance for those who are no longer here.

October is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Awareness Month. To ensure your baby has the safest sleep environment possible, remember these three tips:

⭐ Never let your baby sleep in bed with you.
⭐ Always place your baby to sleep on their back.
⭐ Do not place anything in the crib with your baby; only a fitted sheet.

Protecting our little ones is a full-time responsibility, even while they sleep.
