This one is for the men β€” and everyone who loves them. πŸ’™

April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month and we are not staying quiet about it.

Here is what you need to know:
β†’ Most common cancer in men ages 15–35
β†’ 95%+ survival rate when caught early
β†’ Monthly self exams take less than 5 minutes
β†’ The biggest barrier? Silence and avoidance

Black men are often diagnosed at later stages β€” and that gap matters.

At DHFWC, we take care of the WHOLE family. That includes the men who have been telling themselves they are fine without actually checking.

No judgment. No shame. Just good medicine and a physician who genuinely cares. πŸ’œ

Tag a man in your life who needs to hear this. It could save his life. ⬇️

One year.

493+ patient visits.

Countless moments I'll never forget. πŸ’œ

One year ago I opened DHFWC's doors as a solo physician with a big vision and a lot of faith. This year taught me things no residency ever could β€” about running a business, about my community, and about what it really means to care for people.

God, I thank you.πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

To every patient who chose to trust me: thank you. You are the reason this practice exists and the reason it will keep growing.

Year two brings new team members, expanded services, and a foundation vision still very much in the works. We are building something real here β€” and we are just getting started.

Charlotte, thank you. πŸ–€

Apparenrly "solo" looks different for everyone.πŸ€”

I've been having the most interesting conversations about what it really means β€” and now I want to hear from you.

What does solo mean to you? Drop it in the comments πŸ‘‡

Save the date! πŸ“…βœ¨

I'll be stepping into history on April 18th at 'Voices from the Past' β€” Charlotte's living history event celebrating America's 250th Anniversary!

I am honored to portray Dr. Lucy Hughes Brown, a trailblazing Black woman who overcame every obstacle imaginable to become a doctor, a hospital founder, and a pioneer for her people.

She was real. Her story is powerful. And I can't wait to share it with you.

This is me. And my daughter. Hours after she arrived. πŸ’œ

What this photo doesn't show β€” I had pre-eclampsia.

I am a physician. I knew the signs. I spoke up. And I had a doctor who actually listened.

That is why we are both here today.πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

Every day during Black Maternal Health Week I think about the Black women who had the same symptoms I had β€” who spoke up just like I did β€” and were sent home anyway. Dismissed. Overlooked. And didn't get the same outcome we did.

That is not a coincidence. That is a crisis.

I became a physician so that no woman in my care would ever feel invisible in that moment. At DHFWC, I will always pay attention. I will always listen. I will always act.

If this resonates with you β€” share it. Someone needs to see it today. πŸ’œ

I asked. You answered. And I need to share what you told me. πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

A few days ago I asked women in their 40s to tell me their biggest struggle with how their body is changing β€” And you showed UP.

Here's what I heard over and over again:
"I can't sleep through the night."
"I'm exhausted but I can't rest."
"I don't recognize my own body anymore."
"My doctor told me I'm fine but I know something is wrong."

Can I tell you something?

What you are describing has a name. It has answers. And it is absolutely treatable.
You are not crazy. You are not just stressed. And you are not alone.

I hear you. And I am building something specifically for you. πŸ’œ

Every person is more than a label.πŸ’œ

Today is World Autism Day - and at DHFWC, we celebrate every neurodivergent individual in our community by committing to something simple and powerful: seeing the whole person.

If you're a parent navigating an autism diagnosis - or still searching for answers - you deserve a physician who listens, advocates, and walks alongside your family.

That's what we're here for. 🌿

Today is National Doctors' Day, and I'm feeling grateful.πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

I became a physician because I believed health care could be more personal, more human, and more equitable. More importantly, it was my God-given purpose to become a family medicine physician.

Every day at Dominion Health Family Wellness Center, I get to live that out - caring for families from newborns and grandparents, showing up as more than just a physician, but as a trusted partner in your health journey.

To my fellow physicians - thank you for your dedication, your sacrifice, and your heart for this work. You matter more than you know.

To my patients - thank you for trusting me with your health. That is never lost on me.

Happy National Doctors' Day. 🩺✨️

Some of the most important health conversations happen when we create space for real questions- no judgment, just truth.

Next Monday I'm sitting on a panel with some incredible public health physicians and nurses from across our region to talk about something that matters deeply to our community: childhood vaccinations.
