The annual Pointe Preparation Workshop with is a wonderful collaboration between its students, parents, and teachers, and their local dance physical therapist 🙋‍♀️

It takes a village to achieve a 🩰 promotion, and CDM is honored to be part of that journey!

🥳🥳 Cheers to GDT and 4️⃣ years of workshops focused on maintaining dancers’ health and promoting excellence in artistry!

Another fantastic conference ( #6!) in the books! This year we traveled to Vegas 👯‍♀️

So much was learned and shared, but the best part of this conference is always connecting with new and old friends ❤️❤️

Meghan co-presented a case study with “Management of chronic ankle pain and postoperative complications in a pre-professional ballerina.”

CDM values continually learning from colleagues and patients. We are so lucky to be a part of the local Charlotte dance community and thank you for trusting your health and wellness with us. We are grateful for you!

What it looks like to pay homage to where it all started ❤️

Dr. Meghan traveled to her home studio in Pennsylvania last month, as did 65 other alumni from across the country.

Spanning 35 years of graduating classes, they danced together on stage as a celebration of 4️⃣0️⃣ years of business for and the biggest THANK YOU to the woman, the hero, the queen, behind it all 👸

Dance teachers… you are seen and you are appreciated. The blood, sweat, and tears of the daily grind are real, but I promise you – your students will remember the love, and they will come back home 💕

Dancer screenings are being offered again – this time at the Northwest School of the Arts Spring Pop-Up Market 🌸🌸

Screenings are meant to identify common risk factors for dance-specific injuries and issues potentially limiting dance performance.

They are designed for non-injured dancers (ages 10+) interested in keeping themselves healthy and improving their performance and parents supportive of that goal.

The following will be screened:

✅ mobility (and hypermobility)

✅ flexibility

✅ strength

✅ stability

✅ balance

…all as they relate to dance-specific postures and movements

CDM is committed to helping dancers stay healthy today, for the rest of the season, and as they continue to grow – while also crushing their performance goals!

If you have that same commitment, join us:

📅 Saturday, March 15th, 10:00am – 3:00pm

📍 NWSA gym - 1415 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte .dab

As physical therapists, part of our job is to educate dancers on the importance of nutrition and start the conversation on how nutrition impacts them…

🤓 as students and growing teens/pre-teens

🩼 when injured

💪 while trying to optimize athletic performance

For more in-depth discussions or individualized recommendations, we refer to a registered dietician, nutritionist, or physician depending on the dancer’s needs.

✨✨

If you have an injured athlete or want to decrease risk for injuries and improve performance, join us for the Nutrition for Athletes Workshop!

The workshop will open these conversations about nutrition and provide practical solutions for how to include more fruits & veggies in meals and snacks - including food tastings 🤩🤩

It is geared toward parents, teachers, and coaches, but athletes ages 8+ are welcome to attend as well. This info is
important for ALL athletes - not just dancers - so bring a friend or neighbor whose child plays a different sport!

📅 January 26th, 2:00-4:00pm
📍 9820 Northcross Center Ct, Huntersville
