The Yoga Lab NC South Charlotte's newest yoga studio. We are open on a limited basis and offering livestreaming and Due to COVID we've had to adjust our schedule.

Currently we have 2 classes in studio that are also livestreamed. We also have livestream classes daily.

Worry: a misuse of imagination.

I run anxious. Always have.

My kids and my hubby are all too aware of my ability to worry over EVERYTHING.

And I know I’m not alone. Doesn’t worrying just go hand in hand with parenting?

Admittedly, meditation has helped me tremendously with this affliction.

The idea that worry is a misuse of one’s imagination really resonates.

There are so many things - better things - we can focus on. But we have to work SO dang hard on it because the mind does love its drama.

The next time you find yourself worrying about something - stop and ask yourself if there’s not some better use of your imagination.

Chances are your worrying will wane.

It’s been one of those weeks.

So how do we cope?

We keep pushing on.

Getting on our mats.

Not skipping a training session.

Maybe spending more time in nature and more time with our seated practices.

Being kinder with each other and especially with ourselves.

Tomorrow’s a new day.

Keep on keepin’ on.

Have a present day.

Came across this quote and it really resonated with me.

Whether it’s a to-do list that needs crossing off or anything else, can we be present with it?

Every time we step on our mats are we just waiting for the next pose?

As yoga teachers, are we just waiting to offer up the next cue?

Every time we hit a workout are we just waiting for the next exercise, the next rep, the next rest period?

What if we tried to just be present with the task at hand?

Isn’t that really all that there is? The right now? The present?

What would change if we attempted to simply be in the NOW with the task at hand?

I encourage you to try it today. Maybe just start with something easy - like when you wash your hands. Can you be with all of the experiences of that one thing?

Mixology. Our newest class starts tomorrow (Sunday) at 11am.

This class is broken out into 3 parts - mobility 🚙, strength training💪🏼 and yoga🧘🏼‍♂️

This isn’t “yoga with weights” but a smart, safe way to get a full workout with each segment being informed by the other.

Currently offered in-studio only. You’ll need your mat and a pair of sneakers 👟 for the training portion to keep your toes safe.

Got splits?
I don’t. Never really had ‘em either and I’m perfectly OK with that.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t explore the pose and it’s components.

Why not break it down into workable pieces?

Why not work on being strong 💪🏼 in the portions of splits you do have?

Which is more important? Having full splits? Or having control and strength over YOUR version of splits?

Join me Saturday (tomorrow) at 9am for a class devoted to the exploration and experimentation of this posture. 🐒
