Home Workouts + Mental Health Awareness What I don’t stand for is demonizing mental illness.

Stepping into who I am meant to be through at-home fitness workouts and mental health exercises is what I do, Dealing with mental health struggles working on emotional/physical/spiritual wellness is who I am. What I stand for is loving on moms & women who struggle with mental health issues, who’ve had a traumatic childhood/past, who’ve dealt with postpartum depression, PTSD, etc. I don’t stand for child abuse, verbal, physical, nor mental abuse.

You are never going to feel ready.
You are never going to find the perfect time.
You will always feel nervous right before you start.

Do it anyway.

When I'm depressed, I can’t just will myself to “snap out of it.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Depression drains my energy, hope, & drive, making it difficult to take the steps that'll help me feel better. Sometimes, just thinking about the things I should do to feel better, like exercising or spending time with friends, can seem exhausting or impossible to put into action.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s the Catch-22 of depression recovery really: The things that help the most are the things that are the most difficult to do. There is a big difference, however, between something that’s difficult & something that’s impossible. While recovering from depression isn’t quick or easy, I do have more control than I realize—even if my depression is severe & stubbornly persistent.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The key is to start small & build from there. I may not have much energy, but by drawing on all my reserves, I should have enough to take a walk around the block or pick up the phone to call a friend, for example.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Taking the first step is always the hardest. But going for a walk or getting up & dancing to my favorite music, ie, is something I can do right now. & it can boost my mood & energy tremendously for several hours—long enough to put a second recovery step into action, such as preparing a mood-boosting meal or arranging to meet an old friend. By taking the following small but positive steps day by day, I'll soon lift the heavy fog of depression & find myself feeling happier, healthier, & more hopeful again. All of this is the same for you!!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are some tips that'll help you cope:
💖Reach out and stay connected
💖Do things that make you feel good
💖Get moving
💖Eat a healthy, depression-fighting diet
💖Get a daily dose of sunlight
💖Challenge negative thinking
💖Get professional help if absolutely needed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I hope this helps someone who is dealing with some form of depression. XOXO

It takes great courage to let go of what we know, but growth requires us to release the things that keep us small, keep us stuck and keep us from making the best possible decisions for ourselves.

You got this!

You have the right to make your own decisions. You and only you are responsible for your life choices and decisions.

Don’t feel bad when it comes to making a decision for your own life that might upset others. You are responsible for your own happiness, not theirs.

Life is a process of becoming. It is a process of self-discovery and becoming more YOU.

Observe how the mind tries to hold you back- the limiting beliefs, conditioning and programming that try to get in the way of your path. Surrender to the process and trust who you are becoming. ❤️🙏🏽

I needed this reminder and wanted to share this to those who might need to read this as well 💖

You are doing great. It is okay to take a break and slow down in order to get yourself back together again.

At an early age, I experienced a horrific trauma that no child should ever go through. It caused several mental health issues nearly all my life. It’s no fun dealing/struggling with mental illness. Because I hated my mental illness & being the person that was just hurt all the time I wanted it gone so badly that I did a lot of self help things & lots of self-medication through drugs, alcohol, whatever medicine that could ease my mental pain.

Jump forward to 2018, that’s when I was introduced to at-home fitness workouts & mental health exercises.

I mention 2018 for a reason…

Jump forward to 2020, just before Covid hit, I was miserable being married, having kids, not living the life I thought I deserved. Because of the misery and because I couldn’t take it anymore I finally reached out for psychiatric help. I found out who I was, what I was dealing with and who I want to become.

I am here today because I never gave up on myself, I knew there had to be something better and with the workouts and mental exercises I am here alive and breathing and working on my mental/physical/spiritual health.
