Pivot Point on the move!

📸 Photo Friday: On Saturday, November 11, nonprofits and community leaders gathered at the Independent Picture House to view the documentary, “” which highlighted how social media can be used as a vehicle to address homelessness. At the event, Barry Shipp from Pivot Point Transitional Housing, the recipient of the 2023 SEED20 Wells Fargo People's Choice Grand Prize, introduced the physical prototype for his tiny home village!

SVP Partner John Pesavento, currently serving on Pivot Point's Spark Team, also attended to show his support. In a conversation, Barry acknowledged SVP's significant role: "SVP has been instrumental. Their support extends beyond funds; it involves how I communicate about Pivot Point and build valuable relationships." He also highlighted SVP tools like Board and Financial assessments, coupled with ongoing consultations from John, revitalizing Pivot Point's confidence and capabilities.

SVP programs, such as SEED20 Charlotte and Spark Teams, underscore how the collective investment and support from our Partners can significantly boost the capacity of innovative nonprofits addressing barriers to economic mobility within our community. We can't wait to hear what comes next for Barry and other members from his SEED20 Class of '23.

Movie Screening and Resource Fair

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and join the Independent Picture House community and several nonprofit organizations for a remarkable and free event dedicated to addressing homelessness locally.

🕙 10:00 am - 11:00 am:
Explore our Resource Fair at the Charlotte Art League Gallery Space. You'll have the opportunity to connect with organizations making a real impact, including A Roof Above, Samaritan House, United Way of Greater Charlotte, Project Outpour, Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region (an SVP Investee from 2009-2011), and Pivot Point Transitional Housing—the 2023 SEED20 Wells Fargo People's Choice Grand Prize recipient, who will unveil their innovative mobile tiny home prototype at the Resource Fair!

🕚 11:00 am – 12:30 pm:
The screening of the film "," followed by an engaging talkback session.

🕧 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm:
Queen City Jazz Band performs. Refreshing beverages and treats will be served throughout the event.

Come together with our community and make a positive impact in the fight against homelessness. Let's raise awareness and drive change, one step at a time.

The first of 6 to 12 units that will hopefully be delivered by July but this is the first one of Pivot Point shelter villages please follow us and share, but most of all donate to make this a reality for a lot of folks that are living outside
