Families, Stay Hydrated—The Right Way!

Drinking water is essential, but plain water alone can actually flush out essential minerals your body needs—especially in hot weather or during pregnancy. To support true hydration and replenish lost electrolytes, consider these tips:

💧Add Natural Mineral Salt
Try adding a pinch of unrefined mineral-rich salt, such as:

Himalayan Pink Salt

Redmond Real Salt

Celtic Sea Salt

These salts contain trace minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium that help regulate fluid balance, nerve function, and energy levels.

💧Incorporate Electrolytes
Opt for stevia-based electrolyte mixes (free of artificial sweeteners or dyes) to further support hydration. These are great for the whole family—especially if you're active, breastfeeding, or outdoors often.

🤰🏽 Mamas: Hydration is Vital!
During pregnancy, your body’s fluid needs increase significantly. It's recommended to add 1–2 teaspoons of mineral salt per day (spread out through food and fluids) to:

✅ Support proper hydration

✅ Aid in blood volume expansion

✅ Help reduce swelling (edema)

✅ Improve adrenal function and energy

✅ Support healthy amniotic fluid levels

Always listen to your body and consult with your care provider about your individual salt and fluid needs.

✨The birth space is sacred — I never ask for photos, because the moment is theirs. But when this beautiful family wanted to capture and share it (on social media), I was truly honored. 💛

What a blessing it was to support them on their birthing journey — a powerful reminder of why I do this work.

Doula Graduation Day ✨️

Although I’ve been a certified doula for 3+ years and have been involved in birthwork for many years beyond that, I recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in a 20-week doula program with Novant Hospital and **RAO Community Health. This experience provided invaluable hands-on training and the chance to shadow OBs and Midwives, deepening my clinical understanding and skillset.

While being a doula isn’t the same as being a midwife, this program has brought me one step closer to that path. I’m especially grateful to Mrs. Lugenia Grider—our exceptional instructor—who brought over 25 years of experience and wisdom to every session. And a special thank you to this year's amazing cohort 🌸💕✨️
