I get asked about carbon steel knives a lot, their durability, if they rust etc. This is my personal chef knife in a carbon steel, 80crv2. Its been used daily for close to 3 years and I've never cleaned the patina or removed any rust. The easiest way to take care of one is to clean it with mild dish soap,(i.e. dawn), after each use and dry immediately. This patina is a good thing, it forms a protective barrier and resists rust much better. The handle on this one has been recoated with some wax a time or 2 over the years but is largely the same as new. If you want to restore the finish to like new it is very simple, something like flitz on a soft cloth will remove the patina and be very close to the new look again.

We've been very quiet most of the year. Unfortunately I was dealing with a family medical situation that basically shut me down completely. I am back in the shop starting this week, first completing the overdue orders for some extremely patient and understanding customers. I personally will not be taking many orders this year as I reorganize and upgrade some things in my shop. I do plan on focusing on a semi-production line of kitchen cutlery, upgrading some equipment, and mostly focusing on some improvements to my work. I do plan on some more intricate mosaic Damascus, and new patterns. I should be back to posting updates and works in progress very soon. Thank you all for your patience, I am not excited to see what the rest of the year holds.

*I should note this doesn't mean I won't have available work, I just want to focus on the things I enjoy making and pushing my skillset along the way. I will hopefully have a lot of available blades the remainder of the year, I just won't take orders unless it's something I am super excited about making*

Restocked on some stabilized wood over the last week. I have a lot more coming as it's dry enough to stabilize. If you see something you have to have I can always make you a knife to match! We have a lot of different maple, buckeye burl and amboyna here.

This one is getting heat treated with some orders today, it will be available. If anyone wants to claim now they can pick out their handle 9.5" French style chef that's 2.5" tall at the heel. Haven't put the calipers on it but it's around .100-.110 thick at the spine. I intend to leave some forged texture and hand sand the flats. This is Japanese 1080 Hitachi steel. Shoot me a message if interested, just note it will be at least 2 weeks before I'm able to finish this one

Twisted w's 15n20 and 1084, coyote g10 handle with black g10 pins. Ambidextrous kydex sheath with an ulticlip 3.3 this one turned out really clean. For those waiting on monosteel versions of the tactical toothpick I hope to clear my backlog in the next week and get started on those. This one is not available

This one is a little long but I really needed to take the time to extend a huge thank you to Coal Ironworks for their donation to John Norwood of Old Hickory Forge. Thanks for taking the time to watch

Ethan is working another batch of these in 1084, bead blasted and blued, some will be stone washed as well. This one is available if anyone would like to claim it and pick out their handle material. 2.75" cutting edge and 6.75" oal. Starting at $220 with "budget" handle material and a leather sheath. This has been one of our most popular designs last winter.

**SOLD**

I've got one machete available, act fast and you can pick out handle material. Cutting edge is 19.5" and overall length is 24". This is a very tough 8670 carbon steel that has been bead blasted and gun blued. Price starts at $175 and can go up depending on handle material.

8670 forged finish machete, blued with Wenge scales and green g10 pins. This one isn't available but I can easily make another. This is 24" overall length and much lighter than it appears. Chipping away at my back log...

Way different from my normal work... Probably doing a run of these as soon as I finish up my backlog. 80crv2 steel, blued, with camo g10 scales and an ambidextrous kydex sheath. A friend came up with a perfect name for it, the tactical toothpick! If you're interested please let me know.
