As followers of Christ we believe that people are created in God’s image, that image includes emotional and mental life. Going to therapy is a way of wisely stewarding your mental health, just as you would steward your finances or your physical health. If you’d see a cardiologist for a heart problem, seeing a therapist for mental and emotional guidance is just as important.

When we feel like we can't control our situations, it's natural to experience anxiety. A helpful strategy to calm our nervous system and alleviate anxiety is to identify and focus on the things we *can* control.

Our brain and our lungs are two organs we have direct control over. Engaging with them intentionally can be a powerful way to remind our bodies and minds that we are not entirely helpless, helping to reduce those moments when we feel overwhelmed or out of control.
