A Hanukkah Story for Our Community 🕯️
Long ago, in a time of fear and uncertainty, a small community faced overwhelming odds. Resources were scarce. Spirits were worn thin. And yet, they chose to light a candle anyway.
They didn’t have enough oil to last. But they had enough hope to begin.
That’s the heart of Hanukkah, a story that feels especially relevant today. In a world where many are carrying anxiety, grief, burnout, and isolation. Choosing to seek support can feel like lighting a tiny flame in a very dark room.
As a therapist I see this often.
🕯️A parent showing up despite exhaustion
🕯️A high school student finding words for feelings they’ve kept hidden
🕯️A fellow colleague reaching out instead of struggling alone
Like the Hanukkah candles, healing doesn’t happen all at once. It grows, one small act, one conversation, one moment of connection at a time. And when we light these flames together, the light travels farther than we expect.
This Hanukkah, I honor resilience. I honor our community. And I honor the courage it takes to ask for help.
May this season remind us that even in difficult times, light is still possible and it multiplies when we share it.🕯️✨
If you or someone you love is struggling, please know that reaching out is a sign of strength. Help is here, and healing is possible.
