Most of the pain we feel in our body is the result of inflammation, the body’s natural response to protect itself from harm (injury, bacteria, toxins, high fat & highly processed foods). Chronic inflammation is at the root of many diseases including Alzheimer’s, asthma, allergies, cardiovascular disease, Crohn’s disease and colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, type 2 diabetes, psoriasis and obesity.
Some causes of inflammation are:
➡️ chronic stress
➡️ eating inflammatory foods
➡️ autoimmune diseases
➡️ oxidative stress (damage to cells)
Some sources of inflammation are:
🛑 refined sugar
🛑 processed foods
🛑 highly refined oils + trans fats
🛑 dairy
🛑 alcohol
🛑 smoking
🛑 cured meats
Foods that reduce inflammation are:
✅ fruits + vegetables (eat the rainbow)
✅ omegas + fatty fish like salmon
✅ nuts + grains (especially almonds + walnuts)
✅ healthy fats like avocados
✅ dry beans
✅ turmeric, ginger, cinnamon

👊🏻 Move more + try to break a sweat most days
👊🏻 Drink more water (half your weight in ounces)
👊🏻 Sleep 7-8 hours a night
👊🏻 Reduce stress + find ways to manage it
👊🏻 Plug into a community that supports healthy lifestyle habits + education
