Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program The Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program takes a progressive and innovative approach Pleasant, Concord, Kannapolis, and Harrisburg.

Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency (CFMR) is truly a "residency within a practice." Our residents work alongside our 36 family medicine faculty in a private practice model, Cabarrus Family Medicine (CFM). Our residents see patients in one of four family medicine offices that are located in Mt. These offices care for more than 80,000 patients, all of whom have their charts readily available on our electronic health system. This large patient population provides an excellent opportunity for practice-based education and research. You will not only read about illness here, you will see it and treat it, hands on! Cabarrus Family Medicine is part of Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) headquartered in Charlotte. As part of this integrated healthcare system our residents have access to numerous electives at Carolinas Medical Center, and our practice and program are supported by an institution that values both patient care and resident and medical student education. Our family medicine faculty is well trained, diverse, and committed to teaching patient care. Our vibrant family medicine inpatient service at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast provides the core of our inpatient training. All of our general inpatient medicine training occurs on the family medicine service, where teaching is led by two of our graduates who have specialized in hospital medicine (without needing to do a fellowship!). Our inpatient service offers a true "cradle to grave" family medicine experience that will expose you to the right mix and volume of patients to ensure you receive the training you need for practice.
