For over 20 years, our mission has been to bring together a vibrant community of like-minded people who support and uplift one another through the practice of yoga.

We invite you to join us on your mat, either in-person or online.

Through movement, breathwork, and meditation, our classes offer various options and opportunities to practice yoga. No yoga experience is necessary, and classes prioritize inner curiosity and rest.

“Things outside you are projections of what’s inside you, and what’s inside you is a projection of what’s outside. So when you step into the labyrinth outside you, at the same time you’re stepping into the labyrinth inside.”—Haruki Murakami

Join yoga teachers Kiesha Battles, Marcia Ramoutar, and Polly Weiss for a transformative weekend of self-discovery, creation, and community as we step into the magic of the labyrinth to discover a path through the maze of today.

As a group, we will explore insights from our global wisdom traditions, myths, and best-loved stories to create a toolkit that can help us navigate the obstacles we face both individually and collectively.

Our time together will include opportunities for:

✨ Story time at twilight
✨ Labyrinth walks at dawn and dusk
✨ Solitary contemplative practice
✨ Joyful movement
✨ Creation and collaboration

Together we’ll go there, and back again. Please join us for this immersive experience.

We are so grateful to have our friend, Reggie Hubbard, joining us for two special offerings on November 29th!

Reggie will be a special guest at SAFE Yoga from 9:30-11AM at the Allegra Westbrooks Library.

He'll also be hosting Sonic Tonic: Holiday Clearance later that afternoon from 1-3PM at The Coterie Wellness Studio.

The holidays bring about a rush of energy and emotions - some joy and celebration, some stress, some sadness. Using the tools of breathwork, light movement, gongs, Tibetan sound bowls and other instruments, we will reset our nervous systems to find peace, grace and space this holiday season.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see the amazing Reggie Hubbard in person at the Coterie Studio in Charlotte, NC!

Spaces are limited so register today and rest and reset for this seasonal period: https://iamyoga.as.me/?appointmentType=85496856

We’re so grateful to share that I Am Yoga has been awarded a $10,000 Empowering Growth grant from M&F Bank.

I Am Yoga began with classes in a church on Beatties Ford Road and has stayed rooted in Charlotte’s West End ever since. Our mission has always been intentional — to create access to health and wellness in communities of color, where opportunities for movement and mindfulness can sometimes be harder to find.

This grant fuels our ability to reach more neighbors, strengthen our team of instructors, and continue sharing yoga where it’s needed most.

Thank you to M&F Bank for believing in small businesses and community-based wellness.

Feel that gentle hum of connection?

That's the power of kula, and it's at the heart of our I Am Yoga Teacher Trainings. Enrollment closes soon for our 200hr and 300hr programs, and we don't want you to miss your chance to step into this supportive, transformative space.

Whether you choose the 200hr YTT to build your strong foundation in the many paths of Yoga, Kemetic Yoga, and subtle body studies, or you opt for the year-long 300hr YTT to dive into Trauma-Informed practices, Āyurveda, and advanced philosophy, you'll be woven into a vibrant tapestry of fellow yogis.

As one graduate said, this journey is a “life changing” experience that fosters collective healing and lifelong bonds.

Don't let this opportunity pass. Find your path and your people today!

With all we are holding in these moments of global ache, we are being called to listen into the tremors and recommit to practices for social healing. We are being called to acknowledge our interdependence and gather the wisdom from generations who tend this earth’s garden. We are being called to witness each other from the inner eye of the heart.

Join yoga teachers Kiesha Battles and Tiffany Curtis in this retreat of weaving spiritual teachings from yogic, Buddhist, and Afro-Indigenous insight to cultivate the altar of your heart.

Through meditation, asana, and story-sharing, all are invited to:
* Embrace the power of vulnerability within Self and community.
* Connect to your body as the wisdom-keeper for collective liberation.
* Reimagine the shape and voice of your heart.

As we journey together through practices of soul remembrance, we will engage asanas of hatha, yin, and restorative yoga as the seals for integrating our shared awakening. We invite you to expand into deeper knowing of your heart’s voice to awaken the paths of liberation needed for our time.

SAFE Yoga in Greensboro is back beginning October 11th at the Greensboro Cultural Center.

SAFE stands for Safe, Accessible, Free-flowing Energy — and that’s exactly what we want you to experience! This program is designed to open the door to yoga for racial/ethnic minorities and low-income communities, offering a welcoming space to move, breathe, and connect.

In each session, you’ll be introduced to different aspects of yoga and learn simple, practical ways to bring movement and mindfulness into your daily life. Whether you’re brand new or returning to the mat, our goal is to help you feel strong, balanced, and energized.

All classes are led by registered yoga instructors trained by I AM Yoga and are crafted with care to meet you where you are.

“Women of Color is not a biological designation. It is a solidarity definition. A commitment to work in collaboration with other oppressed women of color who have been minoritized. It is a term that has a lot of power.”—Loretta J. Ross

Join Maya Breuer, Kiesha Battles, and Sation Konchellah October 24th-26th at Kripalu and be reminded of the power of our solidarity.

Through the practices of yoga, mindfulness, Indigenous rituals, music, dance, poetry, healing circles, meditation, and restoration, you will be stewarded by people of color as you:
🖤 Gather, support, unite, and experience collective joy.
🤎 Share cultures, histories/herstories, and spiritual practices.
💛 Embrace what it means to be a woman of color (women whose bodies color the spectrum of yellow, brown, and black).

Bring your mother, aunt, sister, friend, or any woman who is open to embracing the definition.
