On Memorial Day, let's remember those who served our country and made great sacrifices.

Therapy can be a helpful tool for dealing with difficult emotions. By talking to a trained professional, you can uncover and process your thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment. If you or someone you know is struggling with loss, you are not alone.

Rian from Y2 Yoga said something that stuck with me :
“You get to decide if you take a break and rest in child’s pose during a yoga class. Sometimes we don’t want to take a break because no one else is taking a break. In your head, you might think, if everyone else can do it, why can’t I? Or I must not be good enough if I have to take a break. That is s**t you just have to work through. Know that you can be good enough and still take a break. You can be supportive of yourself and make your own choices - whether it's in a yoga class or in life.”

Ever notice how virtual conversations just don’t feel quite right? That ‘intimacy’ of seeing someone face-to-face can't be fully replicated online.

👋 Don't let tech issues get in the way of seeing the people you care about! 🙌

If your camera won't move while using video meetings, try adjusting the screen settings. You'll be able to see and connect with your families, friends, and co-workers in no time

Pro tip: Try adjusting the screen by making it smaller/pinching it in until the person's face is right by your camera

Want a trick for balancing on 1 foot?

Instead of focusing on the muscles of the lifted leg, bring your attention to the space between your standing leg’s hip and ribs and engage those side muscles - so much easier to balance - what a difference!

How often do kids say “I’m bored!”

A friend recently shared an article with me: “The Secret Power of Boredom” by Sydney Baker. Even though boredom is uncomfortable, it has a lot to offer.
If we can resist reaching for our phones or turning on the TV (or in the case of kids, giving them some thing to do) and instead just sit with our thoughts, we might just find some really creative ideas. Like jumping off a sand dune!

Whoa, back pain!
If you have ever had back pain, you know what I mean. A friend gave me this book by Vijay Vad, which has been so helpful. A silver lining that I was not expecting... back pain certainly keeps you present!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Over the weekend, I went to a memorial service for Edie Womble Chatham - she lived to be 102! When I asked her, “what is the secret to long life,” she paused for a moment, and then suggested turmeric… she was an amazing woman!
