Exciting news to share with Cabarrus College of Health Sciences!
Exciting News! We are pleased to announce that Diane M. Uzarski, DNP, MPH, RN, has been named the new President of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, effective April 6, 2026. Dr. Uzarski brings nearly 40 years of distinguished leadership experience in health care, including major accomplishments in academic nursing, strategic planning, research administration, team science, and interprofessional education and practice.
In her new role, Dr. Uzarski will provide visionary and operational leadership for Cabarrus College’s strategic initiatives, with a focus on strengthening nursing and allied health education programs. Notably, once all approvals are finalized for the combination of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences with Carolinas College of Health Sciences, Dr. Uzarski will serve as the founding President of the new combined institution.
Dr. Uzarski’s impressive background includes serving as Founding Dean and Professor of Practice at Saint Anselm College Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences, where she developed and implemented the school’s vision, mission, strategic plan, and programmatic outcomes. She launched the school’s first graduate nursing program and oversaw multiple undergraduate healthcare majors. She also held executive roles at Duke University School of Nursing, leading strategic initiatives and mission-driven projects as Chief of Staff in the Dean’s Office.
Dr. Uzarski holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Iona College, a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University. She is widely recognized as an industry expert, serving on the Catholic Medical Center/HCA Board of Trustees and previously chairing the Strategic Planning Committee for six years on the Duke Catholic Center Board of Advisors.
